The National Judicial Council under the Chairmanship of the Hon. the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, GCON, at its 107th Meeting of 13 recommended 36 judges for appointment by their governors.
A breakdown shows 8 judges are from Oyo State, four judges from Kebbi State, seven judges in Sokoto State, and six in Akwa Ibom. Others are seven Kadis, the Sharia Court of Appeal for Sokoto State, two Kadis, the Shariah Court of Appeal for Kebbi State, and two judges of the Customary Court of Appeal for Oyo State.
